Summer Stationery Wrap-up

Announcements· Celebrations· Inside the Studio· Weddings

It has been a busy summer for me! I had the opportunity to design stationery for a plethora of events for some very special people.  Here is a round up of some of the projects that I had the honor of working on:

Baby Ariella’s Birth Announcements and Note Cards

In May, our very dear friends Katie and Andrew welcomed their first baby— a beautiful little girl named Ariella Shay. They wanted an announcement that was simple and clean, but with a little touch of elegance. A clean, modern font, coupled with a sweet dotted border, surround Ariella’s adorable photo. The card was mounted to a pretty shade of purple matting, to give it that little something extra. A matching folded notecard served as a thank you note for their baby gifts. They even ordered some extras so they will be able to use them as note cards for Ariella for years to come!

This was the summer of Meg’s for me. I had TWO special ladies, Megan and Meghan with upcoming weddings, so I had the chance to design not only their wedding invitations, but also their bridal shower invitations. Keeping Megan & Matt and Meghan & Michael straight was the hardest part!

Megan’s Bridal Shower Invitation

My first Megan’s shower took place in mid-June. I worked with her maid of honor and sister Hannah and MY sister Allison (one of Megan’s bridesmaids) to create an invitation that matched their beach-themed shower. We used a precious photo of Megan and Hannah when they were little and combined it with a starfish adorned invitation, in a sand-and-sea color scheme. They even found some cute starfish wine stoppers to give away as gifts for the guests, so I created a simple matching thank you tag to accompany it.

Meghan’s Bridal Shower and Bachelorette Party Invitations

My other Meghan’s shower was in July and put together by her maid of honor, Nicole. Nicole gave me creative freedom with Meghan’s invitation, so I created a couple different designs using the same colors from Meghan and Michael’s wedding invitations. We decided on the fun, floral patterned design below. We also included a matching recipe card for guests to bring to the shower (I of course forgot to bring mine!). Additionally, I supplied Meghan with matching thank you notes!

Knowing that there would be several ladies in from out of town, the bachelorette party was held later that evening in NYC. Since the party was on the same day, we were able to slip an extra card right in with the shower invitations. I used the same script font to tie the two events together, but went with a brighter, more vibrant color palette for the bachelorette party to of course, match the mood of the evening’s celebration!

Luna’s Confirmation Invitation

Early this summer, Luna and her family traveled from Italy to visit friends here in the United States. While she was visiting, she had the special opportunity to make her Confirmation, followed by a celebration with her family and friends. I had the opportunity to create her invitation— written in Italian! This was my first experience creating an invitation in another language. I think this was a good one for me to start with. Since my family is also of Italian heritage, I was somewhat able to read the text so I knew where to place everything!

Angela’s Bridal Shower Invitation

Like Megan’s shower, Angela’s was also beach themed, but in a completely different way. Instead of soft, blues and yellows, we created an invitation that was magenta and yellow to evoke a more tropical feel— perfect for a hot day in July. Angela is one of four girls, just like my family, so I loved creating this, knowing that her day was being orchestrated by her sisters! I worked with her sister Cathy to create this chic and classy invite, and thank you notes to match!

Kristy’s 30th Birthday Invitation

To round out this group of celebrations, is a birthday invitation I created for Kristy’s (surprise) 30th Birthday Party! Her sister Val was open to design ideas but was just hoping to include the Kristy’s favorite color, red (my favorite too!) and two photos of the birthday girl. I came up with two different designs and we decided on the one below!

I look forward to sharing some lovely wedding invitations along with some other special event stationery in the coming months!
