Six years ago, I read a book called “Crush It” by Gary Vaynerchuk, and it changed my life. It wasn’t a dramatic, overnight transformation, but it was definitely the spark that led to me pursuing my passion and starting my business. Since I read that book, I haven’t exactly kept up with following Gary Vee (as he’s known), that is, until recently. A couple weeks ago, I discovered his YouTube channel, and spent more time than I care to admit, getting caught up on his web show “Ask Gary Vee” along with a bunch of his keynote presentations.
All of the “super entrepreneurs” I follow, have their unique mantras and methods. Gary Vee’s is a simple one: hustle. There’s a lot of advice floating around the internet, giving the false notion that having an online business is super easy— all you need to do is read this ebook, or take this course, or attend this conference, and things will run itself, and you can go lay in a hammock while the money rolls in. While the internet has made it easier for us to run our businesses, passive income is a real thing, and those resources can help you succeed, the reality is, we still have to work to make it happen! Not just work, but hustle.
What makes a great business different from a good one? An owner who is willing to put in everything it takes, and keep at it.
