Ugh, this is such a hard message for me to hear. I’ve got a really sunny outlook on things, but when I fail, I just want to crawl into a hole and not come out. It’s really tough to move forward when you are discouraged, when somebody tells you “no”, or even worse, tells you that you don’t have what it takes. I’ve heard a variation on this quote that essentially said that the difference between regular people and successful people are that successful ones are those who persevere through those failures. In an odd way, I find that comforting. Next time you are feeling like you want to give up, remember that those really awesome people that we all look up to, didn’t stop trying. And neither should we!
