Calling this “April’s Printable” seems a bit of a stretch, being that the month is almost over, but I’m glad I was able to get this published in time considering what a crazy month it has been for me! With the lovely month of May beginning tomorrow, I could think of nothing better than to design a Mother’s Day Card and Gift Tag for all of the special ladies in our lives.
I wanted to design something that had some traditional Mother’s Day elements, with a bit of modern mixed in. There’s nothing that says tradition like flowers for Mother’s Day, so I started there. Rather than boring old pink, I mixed in shades of peach, gold and orangey-red to give a bit of a pop. To really add that modern, fresh look, I chose this beautiful script and a touch of ombre.
I think I may have had just as much fun creating the paper flowers used in the shoot as I did the actual designs!
