I am so in love with today’s adorable engagement session! Many sports fans dream of an opportunity to walk the field where their idols play. This lucky couple not only got the chance to explore their favorite stadium, but also had the gift of having Callie Riesling Photography there to capture every moment of the day. Callie shares more about Matt and Denae’s special experience:
“If there was magic in this world, it happened within sight of the three bases and home plate.”
– Tee Morris
I am a huge Rockies fan, so when fellow die-hard fans – Matt and Denae contacted me photograph their engagement session at Coors Field, I was more than thrilled! Matt and Denae are both Colorado natives and were introduced by mutual friends at CSU! We started the afternoon meeting outside the Home Plate gate at 20th and Blake in Downtown Denver. From there we went down to the field, we stepped foot onto the grass and we all just looked around to take it all in. I think we were all pretty in awe of the gorgeous stadium (and the fact that we were standing where many great players had stood)! I could have spent all day photographing Matt and Denae on the field, but we still had a few key locations to hit! The great thing about spending countless summer days in that ballpark was that I already knew many great spots to shoot! Luckily our fabulous tour guide showed us a few more, like the bullpens and the gorgeous area behind the bullpen where the home run fountains are located! I had always seen it from different angles and while it looked beautiful from above, it was even more fabulous inside! Towards the end of our session, we headed up to the upper deck of the ballpark for some fantastic golden hour shots and some photos from the “Purple Row” (the purple row of seats in the ballpark designating the “Mile High” mark – the seats are situated right at a mile high above sea level!) We loved photographing Matt and Denae’s gorgeous engagement session at Coors Field and we cannot wait for their stunning November wedding at the Pinery in Black Forest, CO! (Yes, we have received confirmation that the Pinery is still standing! Although the fire did destroy most of the forest surrounding it. )
