Lately I’ve been obsessed with Marie Kondo’s book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. I know, I showed up a bit late to the party, but this book has literally changed my life. In it, Kondo challenges you to examine every item you own by taking it out of its place, holding it in your hand, and asking if it sparks joy when you touch it. Through this experience, I have learned to only keep the things that I really love, and discard the things that might catch my eye, but just aren’t 100% for me. This has taught me to narrow down everything in my life in the same way, which has helped me to move on from the things that catch my eye but don’t capture my heart. I’ve found things to be much more fulfilling because of this new mindset. – Janna Madsen
