Gatsby Wedding Style Shoot

Real Weddings

Followers of the blog know that I’m a lover of vintage style. Last month, I dedicated an entire week to Mad Men weddings, engagements and fashion. This week, we step back in time a bit farther— into the roaring 20’s and the world of Gatsby. Kicking off the week is a fabulous styled shoot put together by a great team of Utah-based vendors and photographed beautifully by Bensten Photography. Photographer Kirsten shares some inspiration from behind the shoot:

This shoot was inspired by the upcoming film “The Great Gatsby” and we wanted to bring our own sweet interpretation to life.  We leaned towards the powder blue furniture and had fabulous stylists who conceived of different looks for each of the girls. The men’s clothing was also provided by the bridal shop and they were dressed in light colors to match the style of the era. We wanted to illustrate a party and a setting in which people were just enjoying life and the company of each other.  People used to talk so much more before current technology and even doing the shoot showed how much people really have to talk about- these models had a great time and they looked fabulous!

Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see the beautiful video from the shoot, by MJ Films!
