“Goin’ to the chapel” means you need a way to get there! Transportation to and from your ceremony, reception, and lodging is another line on your budget that has potential to be reduced or eliminated all together. Here are some suggestions for reducing your need for wheels.

Many couples are generous enough to offer transportation to their guests from the hotel to the reception. Rather than hire a coach bus, inquire at your hotel to see if they may be able to offer hotel shuttles, at a lower rate, or maybe even for no cost at all, if the venue is close by. If you have enough rooms booked, you should be able to negotiate with them easily.[divider]
Skip the stretch
Instead of opting for a stretch limo, large enough to accommodate your entire wedding party, consider a smaller town car for the bride and groom, only. The bride can ride in the town car with her parents or maid of honor on the way to the ceremony, and with the groom on the way to the reception. If your bridal party is aware that you are on a budget, they won’t feel slighted by your decision. Remember, it’s your day![divider]
Rent a car
Research to see how much it would cost to rent your dream car for a day. Of course this involves finding a capable person that will be willing to drive and escort you. If you are able to secure a family member or friend who is up for the task, you can expect to see savings.[divider]
Keep it condensed
If your ceremony and reception take place at a hotel where you are staying, you are eliminating the need for transportation. This is not only a convenience to you, but also to your guests. And the best part is, you can cross transportation costs off your budget!
