Even though we all experience moments when it feels like time is crawling (hello, 2pm on a Friday), it’s really, sometimes sneakily, speeding by so fast that we don’t notice it. I’m as guilty as the next person for saying, “Oh, we will do that next time. Or “someday.” In this short but sweet life that we are given, we need to take better advantage our precious time.
Many of us feel like we don’t have enough time or money, and too much stress to enjoy what we really yearn for. My hubby and I have been hoarding hotel points for the past few years, dreaming of a time when we would be able to take dream trips to the top two cities on our bucket list: San Francisco and Paris. In January, we looked at our calendar and realized that between building a new home, and our new niece or nephew arriving this summer, that we “had too much going on” to embark on an epic vacation this year. Last week, we had a check in with each other. Why were we putting obstacles in our way? We can totally make at least one of those trips happen this year! Even if it means saving a little bit here, and cutting back a little bit there, it will be more than worth it. And so we are. See you in August, San Fran. 🙂
This week, I encourage you to book that trip. Tell that person that you love them. Sign up for that marathon. Ask for that promotion. Or maybe even quit that job. Take the leap, and you will be forced to find a creative way to make it work. If not now, then when?
