Challenge 6 will take place from June 12th – July 10th, but please take extra days if you need them. I’m beyond excited to start learning how to letter by hand! In fact, when I was dreaming up goals at the beginning of this year, learning calligraphy was at the very top of my list. This yearning was actually what inspired me to start the Creative Challenge. I figured that while I was attempting something new, why not try out a few other mediums, and revisit some that I was already familiar with.
I know that a lot of my readers and Creative Challenge Community Members are typography enthusiasts like me— we are in for a fun four weeks!
Not sure exactly what you want to create? Here are some project ideas to get you started:
1. Keep it simple. Learn to hand-letter the alphabet!
2. Offer your calligraphy services to friend who is planning a wedding or celebration and is in need of pretty envelope addressing. Maybe this is an excuse to throw a fancy party…hmm…
3. Create a piece of hand lettered artwork for your home.
4. Start a notebook of your favorite quotes, written in your best calligraphy
5. Design a piece of art using calligraphy, scan it in and sell it on tee shirts, water bottles, mugs, and more on a site like Zazzle.
