If you caught my Facebook post last week, you already know that I’ve been loving a series from the History Channel called “The Men Who Built America” (now on Netflix). I have always been into American History, but I especially connected with these stories because they were essentially tales of entrepreneurial success. I was so inspired by these gentleman, particularly Andrew Carnegie— who went from rags to riches, and poured the majority of his wealth into improving our society. My ears perked up when I heard him share a quote from William Jennings Bryan: “Destiny is not a matter of chance. It is a matter of choice.”.
I could not be a bigger believer in making our own luck. Unlike some of the other men profiled in “The Men Who Built America”, Carnegie’s fortune was not handed to him on a silver platter— he worked to build the life he wanted. This week, I am challenging myself, and all of you dear readers to do the same!
For those who may be new to my Motivation Mondays, here’s a little rundown of how it works:
